Functional Medicine

Chiropractic?

Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis of disorders of the spine, joints and muscles, as well as the treatment and prevention of acute or chronic conditions.

Why choose Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is safe.
Chiropractors address the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
The modern chiropractor incorporates science, new technology, supplementation and rehabilitation to restore the body’s normal function.

INSURANCE & COST

Chiropractic and functional medicine are covered by most health insurance providers. We do not do direct billing but we do supply you with the claim forms so you can claim yourself. Please contact your provider for details of your specific cover as this may vary.

Cost per session:
Initial Consultation: QAR 800
Follow up: QAR 400

What to expect during your first consultation?

Your chiropractor will thoroughly review your health history and your presenting case to determine that you are in the right place and that we can help you.
This will be followed by a thorough examination.
Some tests may be required including X-rays or blood tests.
We will then devise a care plan to suit your needs.

Chiropractic Techniques Used

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a method of assessing muscle function in order to gain feedback from the nervous system about the functioning of your body. AK provides us with real time feedback as to how your system functions on a structural, physiological and biochemical level.

SFMA

The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a total body movement diagnostic system. The assessment will provide an efficient method for systematically finding the cause of the patient’s pain, not just the source.

Dry Needling

When an injury occurs from overuse acute trauma inflammatory cells get produced from the damaged tissue. The damaged tissue will also go into spasm to protect the joint from further injury. The spasm and inflammation decreased circulation, which affects oxygen reaching the injured site causing an accumulation of waist products at the injured site. The decrease in oxygen causes the production of fibroblasts (cells that produce scarring). The scarring that builds up in the tissue limits the tissue’s ability to contract and lengthen, and it may also cause irritation of nerves.

Conditions treated with Dry Needling:

  • Neck/ back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Tennis/ Golfers elbow
  • Headaches
  • Hip and knee pain
  • Achilles pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sciatica
  • Muscular/ ligament sprains
  • Chronic pain

FMS

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a screening tool used to evaluate seven fundamental movement patterns in individuals with no current pain complaint or musculoskeletal injury. The FMS is not intended to diagnose orthopaedic problems, but rather to demonstrate opportunities for improved movement in individuals. The screen is designed to place an individual in extreme positions where movement deficits become noticeable if appropriate stability and mobility are not used. Even though individuals are performing an activity or a sport at a high level, it has been observed that many of these same individuals are limited in fundamental movement. This leads to the use of compensatory movements in order to achieve or maintain the level of performance needed for the activity. The inefficient use of compensation during movement will lead to poor biomechanics that limit gains in performance and reduces the body’s ability to remain adaptable and durable against the risks of being involved in the activity or sport.
